For 70 years, Actors Community Theatre has provided a nurturing environment for area talent, produced quality productions at reasonable prices, and instilled in area youth skills that have real world application. ACT has continued this tradition in recent years with successful productions of Fiddler on the Roof, Christmas Belles, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as well as backstage performances of Deathtrap and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare: abridged. A volunteer Board of Directors and generous community donations have played an integral part in the success of these and other ACT endeavors.
Over the last several years ACT has experienced incredible growth. Our latest project, a theatre workshop for area youth, has seen a dramatic increase in attendance. Other programs such as our annual scholarship continue to empower the community. Recently, two individuals who have worked with ACT were hired for teaching positions in part because of their participation in community theatre. Such growth and involvement would not be possible without the hard work of our volunteers and generous past donations.

Molly Rupert has been involved with the group since 1995 when she performed in the Kids’ Chorus of The Music Man. She enjoys all aspects of the performing arts, and when she is not onstage her favorite duties include operating the light board and using power tools (which she is still not very good at). The friends Molly has made through ACT have become her second family, and she credits ACT with playing a leading role in shaping the person she is today. In serving on the Board, Molly hopes to help create the sense of belonging and passion for performance that ACT has given her.

Andy began with ACT by designing the flyer for Annie in 2011. He read for absentee cast members for the show and eventually played Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He has always enjoyed being on the stage, but would rather be watching the show from the follow spot in the tech booth.
Andy is the Team Leader for Website and Social Media as well as Sponsorships and Advertising. He is excited to belong to such a great organization in Jasper and is happy to welcome one and all to join in the fun both on and off stage.

Steffi Schmuecker started on the stage with ACT in the 2001 production of Annie Get Your Gun as part of the chorus. She enjoyed being involved with several performances until the time she left for college (Go Boilers!). Loving the energy that the being around the theatre brings, Steffi decided to get involved with ACT once again when she returned to Dubois County. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, especially her husband and 2 kids. She is involved with the Jasper Kiwanis Club and sits on the Jasper Partnership Commission. Steffi is the Regional Retail Banking Officer at German American.
